Stranger Things Cast and Upcoming Seasons

You’re probably no stranger to the wildly successful Netflix original, Stranger Things. But just in case, the show portrays a story of young friends in 1980s Indiana who face supernatural forces in a quest for secret government exploits. The plot follows these friends as they face each mystery together.

This sci-fi show has received 31 Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, four Golden Globe Award nominations, and it won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in 2016.

What Is Stranger Things 4 about?

In the final scenes of Season 3, Will and his family revealed they would be leaving their small town. When Netflix released the first teaser for the fourth season, it opened with text that reads, “We’re not in Hawkins anymore.” This new season will take place somewhere outside of Hawkins, Indiana. When the show originally aired, creators Matt and Ross Duffer shared their plans for the series to take place over four or five seasons. Many fans are skeptical on whether or not this will be the finale.

Season four is being filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. The stars returning for their recurring roles include Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, Matthew Modine, Noah Schnapp and Joe Keery.

A recent interview with the Duffer Brothers revealed the return of a character who many presumed dead. He commented, “”We’re excited to officially announce that production for Stranger Things 4 is now underway—and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper! Although it’s not all good news for our ‘American’; [Hopper] is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, Russia, where he will face dangers both human… and other. Meanwhile, back in the States, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything…”

When does filming for ‘Stranger Things 4’ start?

As for most things in 2020, production of the fourth season came to a halt due to COVID-19 back in March. During this shutdown, the creators and writers had time to go back and perfect their scripts like never before in past seasons. They also put many fans’ minds at ease by confirming the fourth season will not be the last.

“We’ve had a lot more time to work on the scripts. For the first time, we have the scripts written and we’re able to look at it as a whole piece and make adjustments,” said Duffer brother, Matt.

Fans were ecstatic to learn production resumed later in September. The cast and crew all returned to Georgia at EUE Screen Gems, where they have produced the first three seasons.
