Ozark is a Netflix original TV series starring Jason Bateman and Lauren Linney as a couple involved in a drug cartel. This crime drama series is produced by Media Rights Capital and created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams. The show premiered mid-summer of 2017, and since then has released three seasons. Netflix renewed the series for a fourth and final season, which will consist of fourteen episodes.
This series is no stranger to awards and accolades. It has received much praise from critics and fans. Ozark has been nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards a total of 32 times, including two for Outstanding Drama Series. Jason Bateman, starring as Marty Byrde, won for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series in 2018, in addition to receiving two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor – TV Series Drama.
What is Ozark about?
Ozark is about financial advisor, Martin “Marty” Byrde, orchestrating a money laundering operation in the Lake of the Ozarks region of central Missouri after a Mexican drug cartel deal goes wrong. He moves his wife and children from Chicago to the Ozarks, where they are faced with more obstacles and local criminals, including the Kansas City Mafia.
